Come here from the experts, including an attorney on the case, Lali Madduri! Our panel will examine the current state of the Supreme Court, how a case like Moore v. Voting Reform Progress and What this Means for 2024! - On Demand!
2024 is almost here and it's time to kick off the season with a star-studded CLE on election reforms featuring State Senator Zellnor Myrie! With the 2022 midterms, a red wave was prevented across the country, but certain races were won and lost by closer margins in New York State.
At this program, originally broadcast on September 12, 2023, a team of experts explore what happened in the last legislative cycle, what reforms still need to be made, and how will this impact the 2024 election?? Specifically, the expert panel reviewed the enormous progress with voter reform legislation in recent years, the accomplishments of the last legislative cycle, the recent redistricting changes, what reforms still to be made, and how communities can engage to inspire a better coordinated voter base.
The presentation is subdivided into first, a discussion of the successful voting reform efforts in New York State; second, an examination of what happened during the last legislative cycle (e.g., early mail votes, campaign finance modifications, golden day voting), a conversation of what reforms still need to be made, the impact on communities of color, and finally, how the voter base can be better inspired by the increased access created by these reforms. You can also learn how to plug in to these efforts!
