Do you get angry when you hear about restrictive laws that make it harder for people to vote? Do you want to use the skills you’ve learned in law school to help people exercise the most precious of civil rights on Election Day? 2016 will be the first Presidential election in 50 years to take place without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act in effect. We need your help!
In New York and key 2016 battlegrounds across America, antiquated election laws make it difficult and inconvenient for eligible voters to participate in our democratic process. Attorneys and law students are in a unique position to make a difference. Together we can put our skills to work to raise awareness, help members of our community overcome registration hurdles, advocate for convenient pro-voter legislation, and protect the rights of voters on Election Day 2016. With some of our most cherished civil and political rights under siege, it is more critical than ever for us to focus on strengthening and expanding voting rights, and we can't do it without you!
