Join NYDLC's Disability Action VR call!

We will discuss several potential initiatives to improve voting rights and expand access to the ballot for people with disabilities and decide which are most viable to pursue.

       Join NYDLCers to discuss opportunities for greater integration of disability advocacy into the voting rights movement, and our work in New York and across the U.S. This call is appropriate for any NYDLCers with ties to, experience advocating for, or general interest in improving voter access and political participation among people with disabilities. Together, we can broaden the reach and breadth of our advocacy and strengthen ties among like-minded advocates.

The purpose of this call is to explore interest/viability of several proposals that have been raised recently by membership, consider new ideas, and decide which ones we should prioritize. 

       As a volunteer-driven organization, NYDLC is only limited by our capacity to effectively launch and execute initiatives to improve voter access and participation. We hope you will join the call and help make one or more of these proposals a success!

       2017 is a critical year for Pro-Voter election law reform and modernization in New York and across America. New challenges, like a Justice Department or Supreme Court majority that is hostile to civil rights, make our voting rights advocacy more important than ever. It is also a critical building year for voter expansion and enacting reforms to increase voter access, reduce barriers to participation, and pursue programming that is likely to increase voter engagement/turnout.
