Join NYDLC for our next exciting CLE program on the history, law, and thorny politics of Constitutional Conventions in New York and across the U.S. This program arrives just in time to help inform your decision whether to support or oppose the once-every-20-years call for a NYS Constitutional Convention, which will appear on the November 2017 ballot statewide.

Every 20 years, New Yorkers vote on whether to hold a state constitutional convention to revise and improve the New York State Constitution. For the past few cycles, New Yorkers have opposed the convention or voted down any resulting proposed amendments. The last time New Yorkers voted to revise the state Constitution by Convention was in 1938 (80 years ago!) when a number of protections were added to the Constitution.

Find out why reform-minded advocates and good government groups are split on whether or not to support the 2017 NYS Constitutional Convention proposal and have come down on opposing sides of this issue. We hope you will join us for this important presentation.

*Two NYS Professional Practice CLE credits are pending approval by the NYS CLE board. This live course is appropriate for both newly-admitted and experienced attorneys. Limited discounted seating for non-attorneys is available.

NYDLC has a scholarship policy for those interested in attending but who are unable to pay due to financial hardship. To RSVP for a scholarship ticket, please contact [email protected] and provide your full name and mobile #. By seeking a scholarship, you are affirming in good faith that it would cause you financial hardship to pay for a ticket to this program.
